The United States is navigating a period of significant social, economic and political change. Long-term shifts in economic priorities, technology and cultural norms have reshaped how the public experiences work, community, and civic life while debates over inequality, political influence and public trust continue.
Senator Chris Murphy joins us live in Chicago as he discusses his new book, Crisis of the Common Good, and the forces shaping modern American life. Drawing on history and political philosophy, Murphy will explore economic power, globalization, technology and civic engagement while introducing a framework centered on the “common good” that he argues can resonate across political perspectives.
